Transforming hearts and communities—one need at a time.

Crossroads of the Rockies is a non-profit, Christian, compassion center that serves the communities around it. Located on the west side of metro Denver, we serve people in both Denver and the west suburbs. We seek to provide resources for the needs of our communities. Currently we operate a food bank; a clothing distribution center; kids programs, ESL, adult programs, and various special events for the entire community.

We also meet the needs of youth by providing an after school program on Wednesdays, WHIZ Kids tutoring, basketball programs, a computer lab, various other youth events throughout the week.

We have a small staff that enables a large group of volunteers to effectively facilitate our programs. We partner with various affiliate organizations that also provide resources we do not have. We are governed by a board of directors.

  • Transforming hearts and communities – one need at a time.
  • Crossroads of the Rockies exists to serve our urban neighbors by building Christ-centered relationships and holistically meeting needs.
  • In In 1989, through the vision of a small group of Denver area pastors, Care Unlimited was founded, its original purpose to address the issue of those inner city individuals who were in need of food and clothing. That ministry moved into a renovated building it purchased in 1995 and was renamed Crossroads of the Rockies as most people served were at a crossroads in their lives. Steve Reshetar, Pastor of Grace Church of the Nazarene, was the first Executive Director. Chris Curry, Dean Cowles, John Thaxton, Raquel Forrest, Ellen Barton, Ryk Montoya, Scott Carranza, and Jim Watters followed him in that role prior to the arrival of Bob Smith who is the current Executive Director.

In the summer of 2008, after having been located on West Kentucky [Street] for thirteen years, Crossroads relocated to its current larger home at the corner of Dale Court and Mississippi Avenue in Denver. It shares space in the All Nations Ministries building with four healthy, kingdom-minded churches which together strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the surrounding communities. On Sundays, there are services in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and French.

Over the years, God has accomplished great things through Crossroads of the Rockies. Through the many programs and activities it offers, thousands have been fed, clothed, and lifted up in prayer. While providing programs and activities both educational and fun, Crossroads mentors and tutors build lasting relationships with hundreds of children and lead many to Christ through the Biblical studies they share. People of all ages, many coming to Crossroads in the midst of crisis and despair, find hope, healing, and a new direction in life.
